
Leona Louise Lewis, born on April 3, 1985. She is an actress as well as a singer and activist from Britain. She was born and raised in London Borough of Islington and attended Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis became a household name in the Third X Factor's third show in the year 2006. The singer also signed a PS1 Million recording contract from Syco Music. A song by Kelly Clarkson"A Moment Like This" was her prize. The track racked up 50,000 downloads in less than 30 minutes and peaked at the top spot for 4 weeks. Clive Davis' label, J Records, signed Lewis to a 5-album deal in February 2007. The success continued for Lewis when she released her debut album Spirit (2007). The album has been certified as platinum by the UK, becoming the fourth-best-selling album of 2000. In the words of the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the most-sold debut album by female singers in the 21st century. Its first single, "Bleeding Love", spent seven weeks at number first in UK and was the highest-selling single of 2007. In the US, it was the highest-priced single of 2008 . Lewis was named the best new Artist by Billboard in the same year. She released Echo in 2009 , and made "I Love You" as the film's main song. Lewis's song "Collide" is an impromptu collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and she released Hurt the EP, her first extended play. The release of her third studio album, Glassheart (2012), was a departure in direction for Lewis and her music, drawing on dubstep and electronic music. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she started recording music for her debut Christmas album. The following year, her Christmas with Love was released, and included the single that was released as the album's lead track "One more sleep", reached number three on the charts in the UK. Lewis was a British solo female artist was the first artist to make it into the top five with eight songs. It was a leap over Olivia Newton John's seven-year record.
